The
classroom provides a rich learning environment for your child.
There
are activities that develop independence, fine motor control, the skills
of categorisation and discrimination, writing and reading, arithmetic
and the
peoples and countries of the
world.
There is music, singing and movement everyday in addition to a creative
movement programme that assists coordination, balance and a sensitive
response to
world music.
Your child’s drive for self expression is fostered through painting, clay and handcrafts.
The golden thread that binds all these activities together is a love and respect for each child that extends beyond the classroom into the world. This builds on the love that comes first from within each family and is a model for peace in the world
Everything in our Montessori classroom, including the staff, is carefully
chosen with the goal of supporting your child’s mind, body
and spirit.
The children begin with us at about the age of
3 and continue in the programme until they turn 6 (approximately) and leave
to begin primary
school in Grade 1.
